GAP DETECTOR ASSESSMENT

A practical way to find out whether something deserves a closer look.

The complimentary Gap Detector provides a short, structured reading of how current, evidenced and responsive your partner oversight appears today.

Highlight if the circumstances for a gap are in place.

WHY IT IS USED

You do not need to know there is a problem before testing the evidence.

A relationship may still be performing. You may simply be approaching an investment, renewal or prioritisation decision and want confidence that the view behind it remains reliable.

The assessment offers a proportionate first step. It indicates where oversight appears robust and where incomplete evidence, inherited assumptions or inconsistent governance may leave decisions exposed.

WHAT IT DELIVERS

A clear initial reading.

Not just a score.

Five category readings, what's driving each one, and where to look next.

01 Overall maturity level

Where you sit on a five-level model, from Assumption Led to Continuously Assured.

02 Five category scores

Change & Recalibration, Visibility & Evidence, Alignment & Accountability, Decision Exposure, and Warning Signals & Emerging Consequences, shown together on one view.

03 A breakdown behind each score

What's driving it, and how it shows up in practice.

04 A combined position

How your evidence base and ongoing review sit together.

05 A steer on what's next

Whether this is enough to act on, or worth a closer look.

WHAT IT EXAMINES

Five conditions that determine whether change is seen early enough.

Each category is scored independently, then brought together to establish the overall maturity level.

01

Change and Recalibration

Whether a change in strategy, people, market position or scale prompts a review of a relationship.

02

Visibility and Evidence

Whether the current view is supported by evidence rather than memory, reputation or partial reporting.

03

Alignment and Accountability

Whether relevant teams hold compatible views and somebody can reconcile them when they differ.

04

Decision Exposure

Whether important decisions distinguish what is known, assumed and still uncertain.

05

Warning Signals

How early a shift in risk, performance or partner behaviour becomes visible.

MATURITY MODEL

A clear reading of where oversight stands.

Each score sits on the same five-level scale, moving from a view built mainly on memory and individual judgement through to one that is tested and reassessed continuously as relationships change.

  • Level 1 - Assumption Led
  • Level 2 - Fragmented and Reactive
  • Level 3 - Structured but Partially Tested
  • Level 4 - Evidence Tested
  • Level 5 - Continuously Assured

A clean result is as useful as one that flags a weakness. The assessment does not judge individual partners or confirm that anything is wrong. It provides an evidence-based indication of the strength of the oversight around them.

If the result supports the current view, it provides reassurance. If it highlights an area of uncertainty, it gives you a specific starting point for a deeper discussion. That consistency allows one reading to be trusted and several readings to be compared. It also creates a reliable baseline for reassessment.

IF SOMETHING IS WORTH EXAMINING

A clear route from initial indication to a decision.

There is no automatic move into a paid engagement. The result identifies whether a further conversation could be useful; the decision, desired outcome, and required evidence determine what follows.
