See when a partner relationship has materially changed
A relationship can continue to appear stable after the conditions that originally justified it have moved. Priorities change, sponsors leave, capabilities develop and competing commitments alter the attention available on either side, often before the effect appears in performance reporting.
The Visibility Assessment establishes the current position and tests it against the assumptions, expectations or earlier evidence on which the relationship is being managed.
Continuity can conceal a different commercial position
Regular meetings, familiar contacts and continued activity can create a reasonable sense that the relationship remains on course. They do not necessarily show whether it still holds the same strategic importance, whether the opportunity remains available or whether both organisations are committed to the same outcome.
By the time a material change becomes visible through missed targets or disengagement, the organisation may already have spent months supporting a position that no longer exists.
Test the position being managed today
The assessment considers what has changed across strategy, sponsorship, capability, engagement, opportunity, dependencies and delivery. Evidence from current reporting and relationship activity is brought together with the views held across leadership, internal teams and, where appropriate, the partner.
Where a previous assessment or documented position exists, the same framework can be used to make a direct comparison. Where it does not, the assessment establishes a reliable baseline against which future movement can be measured.
Respond before change becomes a performance problem
The findings show where the relationship remains aligned with its intended purpose, where its commercial case has strengthened and where assumptions need to be revised. They also identify changes that require immediate attention, rather than allowing them to remain hidden inside established routines.
Leadership can decide whether to renew commitment, address a specific point of drift, change the level of support or reconsider the relationship’s role. Reassessment then provides an early indication of further movement and shows whether the response has restored the intended position.
Test the current position before the next commitment
If an important relationship is approaching renewal, receiving continued investment or no longer feels as certain as it once did, the conversation can begin with what may have changed.
